Cane & Reeds

I view reeds as one of the most important components in a set of pipes. Given they are the voice of the instrument reeds play a huge part in how the instrument sounds and feels. I find cane chanter reeds and cane drone reeds give me the full rich sound I am after.

Over the years I have found selecting the right cane to be hugely important at the starting point for making reeds with the voice and I feel that I am after.

I source my cane from suppliers in the south of France as well as hand-selecting wild cane from this region.
