2012 Ian Kinnear Smallpiping Weekend
Friday 28th – Sunday 30th September 2012

The Burn, Edzell, Angus

The format of the course will follow along similar lines as previous courses where there is a mix of piping tuition along with a choice of workshops including session playing, playing with other instruments, harmonies, pipe maintenance & reed-making.
The cost of the course is £200, which covers 2 nights accommodation, all meals, tuition and workshops.

Ian is delighted to welcome Duncan Nicholson as this year’s visiting tutor to the annual smallpiping course.

Duncan is pipe-major of Strathclyde Police Pipeband. As well as being a
top-class highland piper Duncan is a fantastic player and tutor of Scottish smallpipes and whistle. He has played in many folk groups including Train Journey North, Canterach, Skipinnish, Skerryvore, The Vatersay Boys as well as 5 years touring the world with The Tannahill Weavers.
